CRISIS LINE

Volunteer

Mosaic Georgia relies on dedicated volunteers to support assault survivors and ensure the smooth operation of our center. All volunteers complete a background check, receive 30-hours of specialized training, and are required to complete 10-hours of continuing education each year to remain up to date with practices, resources, and laws.

WHAT DOES VOLUNTEERING FOR MOSAIC GEORGIA LOOK LIKE?

Volunteer roles include:

  • Volunteer Advocate: Works under the supervision of the Mosaic Georgia SART Coordinator and provides “on-call” direct-victim assistance for evening, weekend and holiday schedules. This volunteer provides in-person and telephone support and crisis intervention to victims throughout the medical and legal process. (Must live within a 45-minute radius of Duluth, GA.)
  • Office Volunteer:  Provides assistance with administrative projects, clerical tasks, and inventory. The Office Volunteer answers the business line and provides support, resources, and referrals to victims of sexual assault and/or child sexual abuse. Volunteers also speak with professionals such as Law Enforcement, District Attorney’s office, and Department of Family and Children’s Services to determine their needs and delegate to an appropriate staff member.
  • Outreach and Special Events Volunteer: Assists and participates in Mosaic Georgia fundraising, community outreach, special events, and prevention activities as they become available.
  • Childcare Volunteer:  Assist with childcare during our non-offending caregiver support groups for up to 5 children. Support Groups are typically every Tuesday from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
