Clinical Skills & Expert Witness Testimony Workshop
Mosaic Georgia provides opportunities for Sexual Assault Forensic/Nurse Examiners to expand their skills and knowledge through hands-on Clinical Training and Expert Witness Testimony Workshop.
This in-person, two-day workshop will refine the clinical skills of the didactically trained SANE and engage each participant in preparing to testify in court as an expert witness. Please note, that the completion of a 40-Hour Didactic SANE Training course is a prerequisite for this Clinical Skills Training & Workshop.
Clinical Skills & Expert Witness Testimony Workshop
Utilizing Forensic Teaching Associates (FTAs), our clinical skills workshop allows each SANE to practice physical examination. This includes proper speculum insertion, evidence collection/processing, and colposcopy. This training includes mock forensic medical exam practice.
Objectives
1. Provide hands on Sexual Assault Examination training with live models including speculum insertion, evidence collection and handling, documentation and photography.
2. Increase the SANE’s skill and confidence with performing the forensic medical exam of adult and adolescent patients.
3. Observe a well-seasoned SANE’s expert witness testimony in an actual courtroom setting.
4. Gain familiarity with the courtroom and trial process.
5. Witness and participate in a mock trial.
