Meet Our Volunteers

Meet Some of Our Wonderful Volunteers!

We could not do the work we do without the help of our volunteers. They generously provide their time and talents to Mosaic Georgia in multiple capacities. Learn more about why they choose to join forces with Mosaic Georgia.

“It’s wonderful to simply ‘be there’ for another human being in their time of need, unencumbered by any other responsibilities.”
Melanie completed her training as a volunteer advocate in December 2017. As a mother of three, she generously dedicates her free time to supporting survivors of sexualized violence. When asked why she chooses to volunteer, she stated, “With enough caring support and access to proper resources, survivors can do more than just ‘survive;’ they can thrive.”

“I kept getting frustrated about what was happening in the world in relation to sexual assault and sexual harassment.  I had a presentation at work where Mosaic was featured, and afterwards I went to their website, applied to be a volunteer, and here I am.” -Jeff

Jeff joined Mosaic Georgia as a volunteer advocate in June of 2018 and has recently finished training to become one of our Sexual Assault Response Team Coordinators. SART Coordinators are responsible for coordinating services to our clients who call via the crisis line during our office after-hours. When he is not sharing his time and talents with Mosaic Georgia, Jeff likes to watch musicals, the Golden Girls, and read mystery and suspense novels. His favorite part of working with Mosaic Georgia is “being able to make a difference and meeting incredible people”.

Raheela joined Mosaic Georgia as a volunteer advocate in December of 2018 and volunteers as an Administrative Volunteer. Raheela helps Mosaic Georgia by assembling resource folders, preparing for outreach events, greeting visitors throughout the day, and answering phone calls made to the office line. Raheela states, ” I find the work I do has a strong impact on the functionality of Mosaic Georgia.”
